Scramble scorecard template (printable)

A stroke-play card fails a scramble. Four player columns do not match how the format works. You need one team score per hole, a place to mark whose drive was used, and space for side games and signatures.

Print a scramble-specific card, or skip paper and score in the golf scramble scoring app. Scrambled Eggs keeps team score, drive contribution, and who drove the bus in one place.

Why a stroke-play card breaks down

Stroke play tracks each player. Scramble tracks the team. Captains end up scratching out columns, inventing drive marks in the margin, and losing CTP or long-drive notes.

A good scramble template flips that:

    • One team score column per hole
    • Drive-used initials for minimum-drive rules
    • OUT and IN drive tallies
    • Side-game boxes (closest to the pin, long drive)
    • Captain and attester signature lines

    Scramble scorecard layout checklist

    Header

    • Event name and date
    • Team name or group number
    • Player names (and initials you will use for drives)
    • Course name and tees
    • Captain name

Front nine (holes 1 to 9)

For each hole, give the team:

    1. Hole number and par (yardage optional)
    2. Team score (one number, not four)
    3. Drive used (player initial or short code)
    4. Optional: putts or notes

After hole 9, add an OUT box: team total for the front, plus a small drive-tally grid (how many drives each player contributed on 1 to 9).

Back nine (holes 10 to 18)

Same columns as the front. After hole 18:

    1. IN total
    2. OUT + IN = TOTAL
    3. Drive-tally grid for the back nine, or a full-round tally if you prefer one grid

    Footer boxes

    Leave clear space for:

    • Closest to the pin (hole number, name, distance or mark)
    • Long drive (hole number, name)
    • Other contests if you run them
    • Captain signature
    • Attester / marker signature
    • Optional: net score or handicap allowance line if your event uses one

Keep the footer on the same sheet if you can. Captains lose loose scrap paper.

How to set up your printable template

    1. Start from a scramble card, not a blank stroke-play card. Use the printable golf scramble scorecard.
    2. Pre-print player names and initials so drive marks stay consistent.
    3. Confirm minimum-drive rules before tee-off.
    4. Brief captains: one team score per hole, initial in the drive column, tally OUT and IN.
    5. Collect cards at the finish for attest.
    6. When you outgrow paper, move teams into Scrambled Eggs for live team score and contribution tracking.

Scoring basics: how to keep score in a golf scramble. Contribution angle: who drove the bus.

What columns does a scramble scorecard need?

At minimum: hole, par, team score, and drive-used. Add OUT/IN totals, drive tallies, side-game boxes, and captain plus attester signatures. Skip four separate player score columns. Those belong to stroke play, not scramble.

How do you mark whose drive was used?

Put the chosen player's initial (or short code) in the drive-used column for that hole. Tally those marks on the front and back so you can check minimum-drive rules at the end. In Scrambled Eggs, drive contribution is tracked in-app so you are not relying on margin scribbles.
